{"id":606,"date":"2026-07-01T14:50:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-01T12:50:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pohoriecergov.sk\/?post_type=poi&#038;p=606"},"modified":"2026-07-13T13:49:18","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T11:49:18","slug":"skanzen-drevenych-kostolikov","status":"publish","type":"poi","link":"https:\/\/pohoriecergov.sk\/en\/poi\/skanzen-drevenych-kostolikov\/","title":{"rendered":"Open-air museum of wooden churches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The mini-open-air museum of wooden churches in \u013dutina is a unique place where you can find faithful scale models of Eastern Rite wooden churches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mini-open-air museum was established with the aim of preserving and showcasing the shared heritage of the Slovak-Ukrainian border region \u2013 wooden churches, of which more than 40 have survived to this day in eastern Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Mini Open-Air Museum as part of the \u013dutina Pilgrimage Centre<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The mini open-air museum is situated within the grounds of the Minor Basilica, on a beautifully landscaped area with footpaths and information boards providing a brief history of each church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here, in one place, you have the chance to admire&nbsp;<strong>more than 40 gems of folk and religious architecture<\/strong>, which are exact replicas of their originals. In the mini-open-air museum, you will find scale models of churches from the villages of Fri\u010dka, Kriv\u00e9, Zboj, Hrabov\u00e1 Roztoka and Rusk\u00fd Potok. In addition, there are also miniatures of selected wooden churches from the Polish and Ukrainian border regions. The wooden churches are crafted&nbsp;<strong>on a scale of 1 : 10<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As well as the mini open-air museum, another of \u013dutina\u2019s main attractions is the new&nbsp;<strong>a wooden church with a viewing tower<\/strong>, which offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area. This church is a faithful replica of the original church, which was destroyed by fire.
