{"id":706,"date":"2026-07-08T13:23:18","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T11:23:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pohoriecergov.sk\/?post_type=poi&#038;p=706"},"modified":"2026-07-13T13:33:48","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T11:33:48","slug":"rozhladna-na-balazke","status":"publish","type":"poi","link":"https:\/\/pohoriecergov.sk\/en\/poi\/rozhladna-na-balazke\/","title":{"rendered":"The Bal\u00e1\u017eka Lookout Tower"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mountain range\u00a0<strong>Bala\u017eka <\/strong>in the town <strong>Lipany\u00a0<\/strong>(643 m above sea level) is interesting from several points of view. Beneath the railway embankment in the Bala\u017eka-\u0160trembroch area, there used to be an old Jewish cemetery. Its establishment can be attributed to the arrival of the first Jews from Polish Galicia around 1813, and it remained in use until the end of the 19th century. Today, the original layout of the cemetery has not been preserved, but an information board has been erected to mark the site.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hiking, the railway and the viewing tower on the Bal\u00e1\u017eka massif<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The massif is bordered by a railway line, which, in its eastern section, has divided the rock into what are known as \u201eMal\u00e1 skala\u201c and \u2018Ve\u013ek\u00e1 skala\u2019. This has resulted in\u00a0<strong>two main walking routes<\/strong>. The Mal\u00e1 skala circular walk offers a view from the cross. Here you will find an Italian well, partisan trenches, a hunting hide and information boards. The Ve\u013ek\u00e1 skala circular trail follows the Bala\u017eka ridge; both trails are interconnected and have several junctions.
