The development of the Čergov sub-destination is important, which is why we organised the first working meeting of tourism stakeholders on 18 June 2026 at the premises of Traditional culture centres and museums in the village of Kamenica. The meeting built on the shared vision we set out during conferences in Sabinov – to develop Čergov in a sustainable and systematic manner, and above all in collaboration with those who know the area best.
Čergov has enormous potential
Beautiful natural surroundings, history, vibrant communities, local stakeholders and opportunities for new tourist experiences. For this potential to be fully realised, it is important to bring together local authorities, businesses, organisations, service providers and local enthusiasts.
That is one of the reasons why, for our first working meeting, we deliberately chose not to use a formal conference setting, but an authentic venue barns in Kamenica. It was precisely this kind of working environment that fostered open discussion, a creative atmosphere, the sharing of experiences and the exploration of specific opportunities for collaboration.
The aim of the meeting was to present current tourism activities in Čergov and to promote existing products. It was also intended to create a space for the development of new ideas based on the character and uniqueness of the area. We believe that it is precisely through a collaborative approach, by bringing partners together and coordinating activities, that we can build a strong, attractive and competitive sub-destination which will bring benefits to both visitors and the entire region.
The development of the Čergov sub-destination is important, so we would like to thank all participants for their proactive approach, insightful discussions and willingness to help shape the future of tourism in Čergov.
