Aquapark Lipany It is a multi-purpose water park where you’ll find healing thermal water, up to 13 water slides and 8 swimming pools. All this across an area of 1,811 m².
The gift it received town Lipany, is unique. The gift came from Mother Nature herself, in the form of thermal water with a temperature ranging from 80 to 90 degrees Celsius.
Thermal water as the basis of the water park
In the 1980s, surveys were carried out in the town with the aim of finding oil or natural gas. Although they did not find these resources, they did come across a thermal spring, which they were able to utilise thanks to a former borehole drilled by gas companies, who subsequently ceased their exploration and sealed the borehole. In 2007, the well was successfully reactivated. From a structural point of view, the geothermal well extends to a depth of 3,400 metres, and hot water is pumped up from that depth. This precious natural resource also has enormous potential for energy generation. The thermal well in Lipany has a water pressure of 3.3 MPa, a flow rate of 30 litres per second and is situated on a hill.
A wide range of facilities and numerous swimming pools
Aquapark Lipany It is the newest thermal water park in Slovakia and the only one situated in the mountains – in the town of Lipany. It is located between Poprad and Prešov, just 22 km from the Polish border and 40 km from the town of Krynica-Zdrój. It is just an hour’s drive from nearby Košice. Covering an area of 2.5 hectares, you’ll find up to 8 pools with water temperatures ranging from 28°C to 39°C, whirlpools, 13 water slides, beach volleyball courts, and hundreds of sun loungers around the pools and on a beautiful green hill overlooking the mountains. The grassy area covers up to 1.4 hectares, making this resort a truly green destination – just as you’d expect in Slovakia.
The swimming pools cover a total area of 1,811 m². The complex features seasonal pools, which are open during the holidays, as well as all-year-round pools. Fun at the water park wouldn’t be complete without water slides, so you’ll find as many as 13 here, 10 of which are outdoor and 3 indoor. The total length of all the slides is 365 m. Active relaxation is complemented by two beach volleyball courts measuring 14 x 40 m.

The water park is situated on the outskirts of Lipany, making it easily accessible by car and bus; the nearest bus stop is „Lipany, aquapark“.
At AquaPark Lipany, parking is available in several areas right next to the complex.
Within the complex, visitors will find thermal pools, whirlpools, water slides, children’s water play areas, relaxation areas, refreshments and places to unwind. It is ideal for family days out and relaxation all year round.
