Lysá near Drienica is one of the most notable peaks for tourists the Čergov Mountains and is also one of the most popular day-trip destinations in the vicinity of Sabinov and Prešov. The peak reaches an altitude of 1,067.9 metres above sea level. and is the southernmost peak in the Čergov range to reach 1,000 metres. It is situated on a side ridge extending south-west from the Čergov Saddle, within the cadastral areas of the villages of Drienica and Olejníkov.
Views from the summit of Lysá
One of the main attractions is panoramic views of the Čergov Mountains and the surrounding mountainous areas. From the summit, you can see the main Čergov ridge, Veľká Javorina and Minčol. On a clear day, the Tatra Mountains can also be seen in the distance. To the north, there is a view of the mountain ridge around Veľká Javorina.
The summit also offers an interesting blend of natural scenery and the remnants of the site’s long history of use for recreation and winter sports. The ski resort’s facilities and the top station of the ski lift are situated nearby.
Hiking on Lysá
There are several hiking routes leading to Lysá. From Drienice An asphalt road leads to the Lysá Pass, and from the pass a green-marked hiking trail continues to the summit. The summit can also be reached from the direction of the Čergov Pass. A blue hiking trail leads to Lysá from the Drienica ski resort.
The climb up Lysá is not difficult, and the area is ideal for day trips all year round. In summer, it is a popular destination for walkers and cyclists, whilst in winter the surrounding area is primarily associated with winter sports.
Ski Lysá and things to do in the surrounding area
The Lysá peak forms part of a leisure and sports complex Drienica – Lysá, which lies at the foot of the southern slopes of Čergov. The ski resort offers opportunities for winter recreation, and there are also trails in the surrounding area for hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing and ski mountaineering.
Near the summit, there is also Altar stone, which is reached via a green-marked footpath. About 250 metres from the summit stands a chapel dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Lord, built near the Altar Stone in 2001.
New attractions on Lysá
In recent years, Lysá has also been developing as a destination for family and adventure tourism. In June 2026, a facility was opened near the summit The Čergov Educational and Entertainment Trail. The trail, which is approximately one kilometre long, leads through the forest and, through interactive elements, introduces visitors to the story of the shepherd Čergov, as well as local traditions and symbols, such as a shepherd’s hut and a wolf’s den.
Lysá pri Drienici is therefore an attractive destination for a day trip, combining a mountainous setting, panoramic views, hiking trails and year-round opportunities for active leisure.

Access to Lysá Access is possible from the SKI Lysá complex in Drienica, where the chairlift’s lower station and car park are located. The chairlift operates at weekends during the summer season, although actual operating hours depend on the weather and technical conditions.
The Drienica–Lysá chairlift It makes the ascent easier for visitors who do not wish to walk the entire route. During the summer season, cyclists can also make use of it, as it allows bicycles to be transported. The cable car boarding point is directly accessible from the car park at the lower station.
Once you arrive at the upper area, you can continue along the footpaths or plan a trip along other routes in Čergov. Nearby, you will find Šport Mountain Hut, where visitors can stock up on snacks during their trip.
Lysá is also a good starting point for cycle tourism and trail cycling.
